JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – Rep. Pam Marsh, joined by a group of public officials and transit advocates, rode the bus from Ashland to Medford on Tuesday in support of a public transportation levy on May’s upcoming ballot. Measure 14-240 would continue providing local funding for Rogue Valley Public Transportation (RVTD) over for the next five years.

The levey was previously renewed by voters in 2016 and 2021. However, the levey has taken on a new importance this election season after RVTD reduced service by 40% in 2025 following changes to federal and state funding. The decrease in funding led to the suspension of nine routes, eliminating Saturday service, and cutting evening service.

Today, Rep. Marsh made stops in Talent, Phoenix, and Medford to speak about the importance of funding public transit.

“You know, the Rogue Valley Transportation District provides over a million rides a year to Rogue Valley residents. A third of those are people who are going to work, to and from work.” said Rep. Marsh. “For us to have an active community, for us to sustain our local economy, for businesses to have customers and businesses to have workers, we need a bus system to complement the cars.”

According to a press release from the Office of Rep. Pam Marsh, renewing the existing levy by passing Measure 15-240 will help maintain current routes and may bring back Saturday service, evening service, or other routes based on community input.

Oregon’s upcoming primary election will be held on May 19th.
